He may send mixed signals, and he might even be too nervous to even talk to you without getting flustered.
It can be very confusing to figure out what guys really want, and reading between the lines can prove to be impossible. So here's some help that will guide you if you're trying to figure out if that special guy is trying to date you or not:
He Asks Other People About You
If you start to hear from mutual acquaintances and/or friends that a certain guy is asking about you, this is a good sign.
He is trying to get info on you from coworkers, friends, etc., because he's still too nervous to talk to you himself.
His Manner of Speech Changes When You're Around
If he begins to ramble and talk very fast when you're around, this signals a panic mode due to the fact that he's crushing on you.
Oppositely, he may clam up entirely and not talk at all. If either of these verbal styles are unusual for him and he only acts this way when you're around, there's a reason why: he's dying to date you!
He Tries Deliberately to Not Look At You
When a guy is trying to get up the courage to ask you out for that first time, he may be so nervous that he's terrified of messing up in front of you even a little.
Until he finally gets the bravery, he will avoid giving himself away by not letting you see how much he loves the sight of you.
He Looks Uncomfortable When You're Around Other Males
This one is obvious; he's already begun to mark his territory, probably letting other guys know that you're taken even before he's even made a move on you.
Guys have a tendency to get jealous way before they actually have the right to be, but try to not get angry and just enjoy how cute it is.
He Avoids Eye Contact With You
There's two reasons for this: first of all, he doesn't want to appear desperate or pathetic. And second, you just scare the hell out of him and therefore eye contact can be very uncomfortable for him to deal with.
His Friends Are Trying to Get to Know You
He still wants as much info as he can get about you before he makes his move, so he sends in the detectives he trusts the most: his buddies.
Don't be confused if his closest pals start talking to you way more than usual, or maybe they start talking to you all of a sudden when they barely have before. They aren't hitting on you, they're just being good friends and trying to grill you for pieces of data to bring back to the guy who really wants to date you.
He is Always Trying to Make You Laugh
Many guys use comedy as an ice-breaker, and a form of validation. When they make you laugh, it really boosts their confidence.
It also eases their nerves, because when a guy sees you laughing, he sees you at ease and comfortable with him. This makes him feel much less nervous around you as a result.
